James William KEGANS, m. Mary "Ann Maria" WOLF
I'm looking for information on the parents/ancestors of either of these people. I have that James William Kegans was born 20 March 1778 in, probably, Pennsylvania, and died about 1826 in the Mexican state of Coahuila (pre-nation/statehood Texas). Mary Wolf was born 22 Apr 1780 in Pennsylvania. I have their descendants, but would love more information on those who came before them.
Thank you!

Re: James William KEGANS, m. Mary "Ann Maria" WOLF
According to Thelma Youtz, Marys parents were Daniel Wolf and Catherine Smith of Lancaster, PA. We never had any real proof of this. Cousin Keith is soon going to PA and see what he can find there. Our James may be either a first or second generation from what I can find but again no proof. Don't believe he is the one md to Sophia Pickel/Pickle tho. Will let you know if anything is found. Maggi

Your welcome, I'm looking forward to it as well. It's about time these people were found. James and Mary were my 3rd great grand parents thru James 11 to Sarah Ann who md Michael Burtcher and so forth. May I ask where you fit in, it's always so nice to find another cousin. Maggi

Re: James William KEGANS, m. Mary "Ann Maria" WOLF
James Kegans is my 4th great grandfather through my dad's side. I've been down to Houston (Sugarland, really) to the Hodge's Bend Cemetery to see where his son John Ross' wife Clarinda's grandfather (Alexander Hodge) is buried. There's a subdivision not too far from there called Kegan's Glen, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's named after some branch or other of that clan (funny thing is, my brother lived in that subdivision for over ten years, and we didn't really put two and two together until he'd moved to Sugarland!)
Anyway, yes, I agree, it's fun to find more cousins!

Re: James William KEGANS, m. Mary "Ann Maria" WOLF
I know it has been several years ago since anyone has posted here. I've have been working (again) for weeks on James & Mary Kegans, but still keep hitting a brick wall after pouring thru the Missouri websites. Has there been any results on the PA research for the Kegans? Wouldn't it be great if all us "Kegans" could jump across the big pond!

Hi,
I am looking for information regarding the Kegans family history. My grandad was Tim Kegans and his father was John Williams Kegans of Texas. All help would be greatly appreciated.
