I have come to a dead end (you could say) on the Keehn branch of the family tree. My grandfather's grandmother was Mary Keehn, before she was married in 1872 in Wisconsin. She was born January 28, 1857 in Minnesota to Frederick and Wilhelmina Keehn. That is all the information I have from her marriage license (which also mentions that a William Keehn was serving as a witness at her wedding). Does anyone know of any Keehns living in Minnesota? Or has anyone heard of Frederick and Wilhelmina? Please respond if you do; I would appreciate some help. Thanks!

I'm a Minnesota Keehn and am tracing my family tree which includes my Father, William Merton Keehn (8/14/1927-3/14/1986) and my Grandfather, Ruger Merton Keehn (11/7/1901-11/1967)I know my Great-Grandfather came from Germany (at least I was told that) and was a baker in Rochester, Minnesota. His name was William and he was married to Lena Goldbeck (1/26/1880-7/1/1970). He died before I was born so I know nothing more about him, but I remember my Great-Grandma.

Thanks for replying Nancy. I'm not sure you can help me much, but it would be great if we could connect somehow. I have a great-great-grandma who I think was born in Minnesota in 1857. Her name was Mary Keehn. Her parents were Frederick and Wilhelmina Keehn. I don't know much about the family otherwise, except that Mary eventually came to Wisconsin and married my great-great-grandfather here when she was 29. I am guessing that they were from Germany, but I don't know for sure. If there was some way to find the right county's census for 1860, then I'd know more about whether Mary had any siblings and where they came from. I've thought it odd that they'd go to Minnesota and come down here (unless they traveled through the Great Lakes area). I'm sorry for rambling; I can't help but wonder how my family got where they did.

Yes, I have this too. I am seeking more information on Mary Keehn Dieter, as I have little on her family. Related through their son Lewis, but Theodore was an older brother of his. Don't have much on Theodore's family -- is he your ancestor?

Yes, that's the Mary I have. According to the census in 1880 in Richland County (just a copy of a transcribed record, which could contain errors, I suppose), Mary was born in Minnesota. She was buried in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Richland County, and that says her mother was Amelia instead of Wilhelmina (not sure if I got Wilhelmina from their marriage certificate or where). I have Charles born June 7, 1849 in Pennsylvania. Do you have more on Mary's family -- siblings or parents?
