Regina Franciska Keechle was one of 6 children born to Cornelius Keechle(b. 1824) and Regina Mottes(b. 1828). The other children to reach maturity were Joseph Matthew (1854-1940). Cornelius M.(1864-1945) and Alexander Graham(b. 1869).
Joseph (my great grandfather) was born in New Jersey and the others in Washington, DC.
Cornelius(1824-1894)was a brother to John 1833-1922. Both are buried at Medway.
This is the family history that I got from a cousin.
The 1880 census for Wayne Twp had Cornel in dwelling 9 and Joseph with family at #10. Anna Rebecca Keechle was my grandmother.

Very interesting! My 2nd great grandmother Frances Regina would have been of the same age as the Regina Franciska you mentioned. Chances are good that they are the same person. This is a great lead to check out. Thank you!
We could be distant cousins=)
The Washington DC births you mention sound right on target. My Frances Regina's daughter Elda Lowe told a story of an ancestor who worked at the White House when Abraham Lincoln was president. The story goes that the woman brought her young daughter to a parade in DC and Lincoln talked to the girl. I always assumed that it was in the Lowe branch, but seeing as it was a female relative and her daughter, it could have been on the Keechle side.
Have you heard a story like this in your family?
My Frances Regina was in Maryland, possibly very close to DC in the late 1800's.

I just got this branch of the family from a cousin three weeks ago.
Frances M. Keechle b. 1860 (could be 1861) m. James P. Lowe 23 Dec 1879 in Dayton
d. 1945
children Elda, m. Vaniman in Chillicothe
?
Clara b 16 Jun 1883 m. Clarence Fultz, later m. Herbert Sams
Joseph Ellsworth b.8 Aug 1886 d. 7 Nov 1903
I haven't heard of any stories about the family.
Joseph's brother, Alexander moved to Montana.

Almost definitely my Frances! Despite the middle initial M, and the difference in birth years. I have found several relatives with birth years a year off. The fact that she married a Lowe is right on. How many Frances Keechles would be marrying Lowes? Especially in Dayton, where my family is centered.
My Frances' daughter Elda did marry a Vaniman.
Is the ? a name that is missing? According to my dad, Elda had a brother Albert who would be Frances' son of course.
I assume Clara and Joseph are Frances' children too. Although I've never heard of them, its not impossible because my g-grandmother Elda wasn't close to her family, and later destroyed all of our records.
You say Joseph's brother, Alexander moved to Montana? Is Alexander a son of Frances?
This is interesting, because my g-grandmother Elda supposedly grew up in Montana (of course her mother, Frances was with her=) after she was born in Maryland. Then she ended up in Chillecothe and died in Dayton.
Thanks to the constant moving around, and the destruction of records, these people have been really hard for me to follow! Thanks!
