I am looking for information about my g-g grandmother Frances Regina Keechel. (This is my aunt's spelling) I know hardly anything about her, but she was born in 1861 (don't know where) and died in 1960 in Chillecothe, Ohio. She had a daughter, Elda Lowe Vanniman, and perhaps a son named Albert Lowe.
According to SS records, Frances Keechel's daughter was born in Maryland, but I don't know how long Frances lived there, nor do I know her husband's first name. Family legend says that Frances Keechel Lowe's husband ran an Indian reservation in Montana for a while, so Frances would have been there too.
She seems to have moved around a lot in her younger years, but stayed in Ohio from the early 1900's until her death in 1960.
I am having a difficult time finding Keechel's of any spelling variation, so surely there can't be too many! Does anybody recognize the above information?
Thanks in advance!

I forgot to add in my previous post... my gg-grandmother Frances Keechel lived in Medway, Ohio for many years. I thought it was interesting to read that there is a Keechle reunion in Medway, Ohio. Hmmm...
My great-grandmother (Frances' daughter) destroyed pretty much all of our family records, so I'm not even sure if my Francis Keechel is originally from Medway, or even Ohio considering her children were born in Maryland and raised in Montana. But, the Medway coincidence leads me to think maybe she originally came from Ohio.

Hi,
we probably are cousins someway. I have a sheet I printed off 1900 census, Wayne twp, Montgomery county {Dayton} Ohio this spring, for my grandfather`s family . He is on page 574, Tobias Keechle, boarder at Frank Copenheffer farm. His father John Keechle on page 575 wife Caroline and children and on page 578 is Regina Keechle, widow 2/28 w. G/G/G/ hk54. I did not know her but printed off because of name. Is she yours?

Hmmm... My gg grandmother was Frances Regina born in 1861, so this isn't her. But, it seems very likely that it would be her mother. I did find a record for that same Regina, she received a civil war pension because her husband died in the war in 1864. My Frances Regina would have been three then. Considering the husband was young enough to be in a war, I'm assuming he was also young enough to be father to a three year old. I'm definitely going to research this Regina and try to find out about her children, because she may be my 3rd great grand mother!
Thanks for the tip, I'll know where to start now=)

I am a decendent of the Vannimans. Have alot of info. on Vannimans and a little on Elda. Her Husbands name was Ray Vanniman who apperently died of the flu during WW1.They had one child,Virginia Ray Vanniman. Born 1917 not sure of exact date. Since Elda was a spouse of a Vanniman details are not all there. I beleive Frances married James P. Lowe on Dec 23 1879. I also seem to recall a Albert Lowe too but no info on him yet. Feel free to email if you have any more qustions maybe I can help.My Email is tre80@surfbest.net. Thanks Tracy.
