Martha Keebler was in Berkely Co. Va. where she bore Mary (Margaret) to Wm. Manford, after Chester. Martha moved to Rockbridge/Botetourt Va. where she married Abraham Saville(who adopted little Mary), said to be child of Quaker, Samuel Saville. Her father may have been Jacob Keebler. Very difficult to separate Keebler's from Kibler's or Kipler's as the clerks often spelled names either way, especially in Berkeley Co. Va.

I have a Martha Kiebler, b. Aug 1833, mar. John Dickey, Daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Piper) daughter of Jacob and Ann Sophia (Butts) Piper.
Jacob Kiebler (Kubler) was the oldest son of George and Elizabeth (Hawks) Kiebler. Elizabeth Hawks ( or Hicks) was the daughter of a revolutionary war soldier George Hawks.
Is this the same line?
George M. Kiebler

Dear Ken, I'm descended from a Jacob Keebler who came to this country in the 1700's from Germany. My great-grandfather was Samuel Keebler who was married to Lucy Stout. I would love any info you have on that line, especially if you know from which part of Germany they came. Thanks, Leslie

Re: Keeblers in Southeast Pennsylvania
Michael --
I do not have any information on Martha Keebler, but have a number of later Keeblers from Chester County in my family heritage They are descendents of J. Gottlieb Keebler, born 1807. Perhaps there's a connection...

Re: Keeblers in Southeast Pennsylvania
I got this email from your note of 2001 on an Ancestry.com message board. I am a grandson of John Lewis Keebler, Sr who was born in the Philadelphia, Pa area around 1900. He married Dora Guild also of Philadelphia. I have been trying to navigate the numerous Johns and Gottleibs to trace back my ancestry. My father (John Jr born 1930) is deceased, my aunt Martha isn't very clear on the history although she said a great... uncle was Godfrey of Keebler Co. and that our Keebler family were from Germany. The name has of course has been changed to various spellings. Any leads you could provide would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. -Ron Keebler

Re: Keeblers in Southeast Pennsylvania
I just saw this inquiry regarding the Keebler family. My Great Grandmother Is Emma Keebler, daughter of William Keebler. He was the cousin of Godfrey. The family first arrived to the US, from Germany in the early 1800's.
