Notes for WILLIAM KEEBLE:
His second marriage was to Mary White Keeble. She must have been niece to him. Thus, she was disowned. She was 15 years old and he was 45 years old when they married. Their first child was born 7 month later. They moved from Fauquier county, Va in the spring of 1800 to Blout, TN. Major Thomas Marshall who William mentioned as one of his officers was the father of John Marshall,w ho later became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Joh himself was a lieutenant in service at this battle. William described the Indian Chief in the Georgia Expedition as Old King Sago which is the best a layman could extrapolate from Indian Chief Guristersigo, who was killed on Jan 23, 1782.
It is stated that he had 21 children.

Polly stated that when Samuel sold his share of his father's land, he moved to Sevier county, TN to rent farm property. He remained a bachelor and worked the land until he became too ill to care of himself. At this time he went to live out the remainder of his life with his brother William McCutcheon. It was Polly's duty to take her little cedar bucket that had been made for her and get cool water from the spring that flowed near the house. She quenched his thirst and held a cool cloth to his fevered brow. It was also her chore to stand over him and wave a cloth or paper back and froth over his body to keep the flies away as they had to screens on the windows in those days. Her other chore was to feed Samuel his meals when he became too weak to care for himself. His body, in its casket of wood was taken in a farm wagon, pulled by a horse to Shiloh Cemetery in Sevier county where it was interred. A cedar post was put at the head of his grave.
