I have traced by Keck family back from my GGfather Simpson Grant Keck nine generations. I now would like to go forward. His son Cecil Baker Keck was my grandfather, his son Sinnett Grant Keck, my father. I always thought Cecil was an only child but recently found pictures identified as his brother Charles and sister Doris. Charles apparently married Agnes Lamb and Doris was Rutledge. Also, picture of her daughter Betty Jean in Aug 1923. I didn't know my father or his family, do you??

I know some of the family history. Unfortunately,
my grandmother passed away before I became really
interested. I do know that Cecil was considered
the black sheep. He left home at an early age
married a woman in Arizona, has a son by her, but
did not tell anyone in the family. Years later
that son showed up looking for family, according to
my mother. She knew Cecil's other son, whom
she knew as Grant. She says that he was about the age
of her sister Betty Jean. Charles Grant was a businessman,
commercial real estate and had homes in New York, North Carolina and
Florida. He passed away about 10 years ago.
He had two children, one of whom is dead and
one of whom lives in Florida. But why don't you
contact me via my email tfouste@cdsnet.net.
It might be easier to "talk" that way.

Keck, Conrad

Sharon you might try Ancestry.com and look for an article by George Eckhardt. The name if listed under Henry Geck, a mispelling when he came off the ship. I am almost certain that Henry is also the first of my ancestors to come to america. George one of his sons is possible my GGGGGGGGGGGGGGrandfather. I am still trying to verify it. Hope this helps. John had a daughter, Jemima KECK. Do you
have any information about her and whom
she married? Where and when she died?

I can help you with informaion about Konrad
Keck and his family in PA. He moved from PA
to Orange Co., NC, with a younger brother,
and then after several years, moved to TN.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Robert: Have you read the books written by Virginia Billingsley Fletcher? "Down in the Barns" THE KECKS OF CLAIBORNE CO., TN - and supplement book "More Kecks of Claiborne Co. Tn." The first book has a wonderful history of the Kecks. If you haven't, I'm sure you would enjoy them.
