I am researching my family history. So far we have traced it back to the late 1500's in Ebermergen, Bavaria, Germany. My line is nearly complete but there are several branches (great-aunts, uncles, cousins) that seem to dead-end. I would like to add these on and find all the family I' ve been missing out on. There are several variations of the last name including Kechelin, Kechelen, Kechely, Kaechele, Kachele, and Kechley. There are probably other spellings of the last name too that I am unaware of. If you think you might belong to this tree please respond and we can compare notes. It would be great to find out how many of us there are. Thanks. Renee

Maybe a connection... August Kaechele, born 1855, immigrated from Germany 1893. Married Anna M. Ruffing, b. 1856. Two daughters: Mary (Mamie) Kaechele, b. 1884, who married Joseph J. Weisenberger (my family). Alice, b. 1886, married name unknown. All show up in the 1900 census. Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. The patriarch of my family was born in Bavaria, Germany (big place), immigrated 1857. There are currently 200+ people in our family tree...we welcome new information. jackweis@att.net

Michael Kechele; his daughter Margaret, bca 1750 m John George Reis, my ancestors. Do you know if he is the same person as Johan Michael Kuchle, d. 1784? Both born in 1720's in Germany; both resided Macungie Twp., Northampton Co., Pa. both had son Jacob and a daughter Margaret. Johan Michael's wife, Maria Magdalena Wagner was a sister to my Maria Gertraut Wagner m Adam Desch.

It sounds as though Renee and I share the same ancestors. My info goes back to about 1500 also. My Kechele ancestors settled in Hessville OH in the 1850's I believe. I would love to compare notes.

Just read your message. Our Kecheleys(Keckeley,Kechele,Keckley) were Johan and Barbara (Schabert)who emmigrated from Ebermergen, Bavaria in 1857 or thereabout. They had many children. six or seven died in Germany and eight survived. Anna Mary, Anna Margaret, Anna ? Johanna, Martin (my g-grandfather,also called Mathias, born in 1845) Michael,Melchior, Frederick, Jacob J. and 1 more daughterI have on record. A 1860 census has them in Seneca County, Ohio. After that they lived in Grand Rapids, Ohio (Wood County.) There used to be Kechely Family reunions. Relatives would come from Nebraska. Egers, Schneiders, Dauers and Asmus families came. If you are still interested after 7 years, maybe this will help you. "Cousin?" Carol Culp Robinson
