Hi, Alexandria! Thanks for responding! I am writing for Manya Galaj (surname Kec) and she was thrilled to hear that we received a response! She is unsure if there is any relation, as she doesn't know much about her father's family. The Katherine Petryk that we are speaking about (Manya's paternal grandmother) was also from Ukraine. What year was your grandmother born? Do you know if she was married more than once? Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello,
I am researching Petryk's in Philadelphia. My grandmother's aunt was married to a Petryk. Sorry I don't know the names but my father is the only one still alive and he's 81 so I'm deaing with just bits and pieces of things he can remember. Anyway, the Petryk's had two children. A son, John, died at age 18-19 after falling off a ladder while painting the house. A daughter, Mary, married an Italian guy by the name of Anthony Falconi. The time period I'm talking about is late 1870's maybe to 1940's based on my grandmother's age. My grandmother (Anna Kinasz Farbotnik) was born in 1902 so I would guess her aunt (her mother's sister) would have been born in the late 1870s to early 1880's. Her children then would have been in the age group of my grandmother so that would put them around 1900. Since her aunt's son John died, that just leaves Mary Petryk Falconi. I have no idea if she had any children or where they would be. I know this isn't a lot of info but it's all I have to go on. Any information that anyone can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks! Alida

I am very good friends with a Kec family that lived in the Baltimore, MD area. The father's name was Michael and was born about 1909. Michael and his wife, Mary, were Ukranian, met in Germany and had 3 children there. They immigrated to the US and had another daughter in Baltimore. Please email me if you think there is a connection. (Michael died in 1969.)
