I have a Jonathan Kearnes (various spellings) b. abt 1852 in Ohio. From the 1880 census, his parents were born in Virginia. Married Eliza Caroline James 30 Jun 1878 in Hiattsville, Bourbon, Kansas. They had 3 children all b. in Kansas: William abt 1870, Anna Louise b. 1881, and Thomas Marion b. 1883. The family was in Pawnee, Bourbon, Kansas on the 1880 census. They moved to Laclede County, Missouri, where I believe Jonathan and William died.

Eliza remarried in 1898 at Laclede County, Missouri, to Robert G. Russell. They were listed in Galena City, Cherokee, Kansas, on the 1900 census. She was listed as having 3 children with 2 living.

I would be greatful for any information on this family.
