I am looking for my great great grandmother, Sarah Jane Keairns. That is all I know about her, other than she married twice, once to Solomon Leach and then to William Burch. My great grandfather's name is Charles Clifford Keairns, born 1895 in Mapleton Iowa. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
Shannon

Sorry.

I know that this is an old request, but Sarah Jane Keairns was the eldest child of Cornealius Keairns and Flora Ball of Mapleton, Iowa. I am a descendant of the second-born George W Keairns

Surnames: Kearns - Keairns
It is seldom that I see this spelling of Keairns. I am hunting them also. Mine came from WV (where it was spelled Kearns) to S. Ohio where for some reason the spelling was changed to Keairns. This was in the early to mid 1800's.
Abraham Kearns died 1828>Thomas Kearns/Keairns>James S. Keairns>Minnie M. Keairns my grandmother.
Would love to know where Abraham came from before WV. Seems the spellings of this name can be Kern, Kerns, Kearns, etc. etc. etc.
Would be happy to share.

Hello,

I too descend from Cornelius and Flora Clementine. (Cornelius & Flora are my paternal ggg-grandparents).

Do you have any info on Cornelius' mother, Malissa? Shannon and I are researching Malissa and Robinson, and Robinson's father, Dunlap Keairns/Keairnes.

We believe that Malissa "Hunsaker" had been married to William Garrett Hunsaker of Union County, IL prior to marrying Robinson. Mr. Hunsaker supposedly died in 1849, but Malissa had a son by him, named James Watson Hunsaker.

We would like to find when she and Mr. Hunsaker married, and what her maiden name was (maybe Watson??).

We also had that Malissa died in 1899 in Silver City, IA, but aren't sure about that info either.

Can you help us? I'd love to know more about George too - I have a fair amount of info on Sarah and little bits on Cornelius that I'm happy to share. What did the W. stand for in George's name?

I don't know much about the Hunsaker line, but I can tell you that the W in George W stood for Washington. My grandfather, Kenneth Keairns was the youngest sone of George and his wife Bernice.
George also had a brother Frank
