KEAHEY, Mr. Ernest - age 87, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Ernest Keahey was born November 7, 1926 in Laurel, Mississippi, the son of Bennie and Mittie (Ross) Keahey.
Ernest was a resident of Montrose, Michigan; he served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant E-6, retiring in 1967.
Ernest was also employed by General Motors “Chevy in the Hole,” where he retired in 2004 and was a member of the UAW Union.
His interest included being with family, visiting the casino, fishing, cookouts, traveling, gardening and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Ernest Keahey leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Roswitha Keahey of Montrose; 2 daughters, Bianca D. Keahey-McKenney (Marcus) of Montrose, Sabrina N. Harris (Michael) of Mt. Morris; 2 sons, John F. Keahey (Evelyn) of Montrose and Michael (Ninfa) Keahey of Mt. Morris; 11 grandchildren, Tiara, James, Shanice, Eric, Alexxis, Talia, Amia, Manny, Nadia, Pariss and Jayla; 4 sisters, Mattie (Dan) Haidelberg, MS; Maycie Gore, Grace Crumbly all of Laurel, MS and Lessie (George) Williams of South Ocene Park, NY; 2 brothers, Roy Keahey of Flint, Michigan and Jerry (Vera) Keahey of Jackson, MS; a host of other special relatives and friends including special friend of the family, playfully known as an adopted daughter, Courtney Flynn.

Mr. Keahey was preceded in death by parents, Bennie and Mittie (Ross) Keahey; sister, Bernice Barnett and brother, Ocie Keahey.

Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Jeff Walsh officiating.
Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Flint, MI, 48504

Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Thursday.
Mr. Keahey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed during the family hour only.
