Keahey
A reply is requested from anyone working on genealogy or planning a reunion. My grandmother was Nellie Ruth Keahey (married to Louis Frank Segars) died 1995 in Eufaula, Alabama. Would love the hear from you and share information. This line has taken me back to Ireland around 1720's.

After more research, my guess is Nellie's father and mother may be Angus and Louise. If that is true, the grandfather is James Alfred. If that is correct, my wife is from James Afred,s brother John Mitchell's line. I have much info from that line and many others.

Do you have any information pertaining to their slave's records?

I have no records, but have heard that one family freed their slaves when they moved to Texas. Also, when my wife's uncle was in the hospital in Birmingham, his nurse was a Keahey and an African-American. I haven't done any looking yet, but could sometime.
