Hello!
I found this a year later, but thought I should post a message. The info that Vincent posts is outside of any info I have, but I believe the Angus Keagan you mention here is the brother of my wife's great-grandmother Katherine.
I still have some serious sourcing to do, so you'll need to check everything of course, but the shell of what I have for the family is this:
Parents:
Edward Keigan (1864-?)
Isabella McKinnon (1863-1941)
had the following children:
Edward Keigan (1864 – ?)
Mary Elizabeth Keigan (1885 – ?)
Sarah Ann Keigan (1887 – ?)
Katherine Keigan (1890 – 1965)
Angus Keigan (1890 – 1942)
Matthew Keigan (1894 – ?)
Edward Albert Keigan (1897 – ?)
Katherine Keigan married Isaac Levine in New Hampshire, and later lived on Long Island, NY. (Family still here and upstate NY.)
From other trees I am using as a jumping-off point, I believe Isabella McKinnon's parents were:
Angus McKinnon (1816-?)
Catherine McKillop (1831-?)
Edward Keigan's Parents:
Matthew Keigan (1822 – 1911)
Sarah Ann McQuarry (1834 – 1910)
Matthew's Keigan's Parents:
Owen Keigan (1764 – 1832)
Elizabeth Grandy
I recently found some threads that seem to lead back much farther beyond Angus McKinnon back emigration from Barra, Scotland. I was looking through those to see if I am on the right track when I found this thread.
Since I saw Vincent's many posts, I was intending to reach out to him and see if he had any pointers for books or resources to read on those lines...
I'm still just getting caught up on these lines of my wife's family, but I'd be glad to share or discuss anything I have.
I can be reached through the Ancestry forums/messages or more directly via my blog:
