Surnames: KEADY, KENNY
John( 1811-1884) and Honora Keady (nee Kenny) arrived at Port Phillip on the Frances in Nov 1841, with 4 children, Thomas, Patrick, John and Maria. John's parents were Thomas Keady and Catherine Lally.
Two brothers, Thomas Keady (1829-1913) and Patrick Keady (1829-1907) arrived in the 1850s and purchased land near the above family. Their parents were John Keady and Elizabeth Nolan.
Daniel Keady (1835-1928) arrives some time before 1863, purchases land near the above family groups and fosters one of John and Honora's grandchildren.
John, Honora, Thomas and Patrick are all buried in a line at Nagambie, Victoria. Daniel is in adjacent town, Death certificates and headstones note Co Roscommon as origin.
Any advice on their origins in Ireland, or relationship between families would be appreciated.

Hi,

1825 - Thomas Keady in the townland Culliagharny, Parish of Creagh, Barony of Moycarn, Poor Law Union of Ballinasloe in the County of Roscommon; Page 8

1825 -Denis Keady in the townland of Clarira More in the same parish. Source: Tithe Records for County Roscommon. (Unable to find Clarira More in Griffith's list of townlands, but there is a Clarary in Creagh parish) Page 7

Griffith Valuations taken c1853 and published in 1855 show a Thomas Keady in the same parish in the townland of Attirory. 1901 Irish census shows only one family named Keady in County Roscommon and they are in the townland of Attirory.

The village of Creagh is in South County Roscommon and close to Ballinasloe.

Two more leads found to narrow down the search.
Second child of John and Honora Keady, Patrick was Baptised in RC Parish of Laurencetown on 8 April, 1837. Near the County boundary for Roscommon. Record found with local historical society, but no trace of other family members.

Record found for Maria Keady, who had a twin brother John Francis Keady, born 1840 about a year and a half before the family arrived in Melbourne. Record for Maria shows, Born 28 January 1840, Drum, Roscommon. RC Parish of St Peter's, Athlone and Drum. Parents names given as Joannis Keady and Maria Kenny, presumably Latin for John and Mary. Mary being Honora's second name.

Sadly, Mary died in Melbourne sometime in 1842.

These leads may help others in their search.
