HISTORY OF SUMMERS COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA,FROM THE EARLIEST SETTLEMENT TO THE PRESENT TIME, written by James H Miller, opens the Keadle family with"The first of the name to settle in America were two brothers, Abram(or Abraham) and John Keadle, the former setteling in Maryland and the latter in South Carolina." From "Passenger and Immigration List Index" Kedale John age na Virginia 1650-book 2772p190. This is as far back as I can go. But that just skips to where I can trace my branch to 1790 census Edgefield County SC. John Keadle. Any help would be appreciated.

Russ,
My ancestor was George Keadle b. 3/17/1811, married to Salethial Douglas b. 8/15/1812, who settled in Barnesville, Belmont Co, Ohio. It would make sense that they would have come from Virginia/ West Virginia to get there. Do you have a connection from your research?

Sorry I can't help you on George. I show Richard Kaddle coming to Virginia in 1653. John Kedale in 1650. That is all that I know about them. That leaves a bunch of years I have found nothing on. I feel that our ancesters were scattered over VA,MD area until the went west. Russ

I have Keadles in Ohio as well. I don't have much to go on, however, I do know for sure that my John Keadle was my gggrandfather b. Nove 14, 1832. He married Margaret V. Deaver. b. Jan. 22, 1848. His father I believe was George Keadle but I haven't got any proof of that yet. This family lived in Noble County Ohio if I'm not mistaken. Please let me know if this could be the same George Keadle that you have. Trisha
