Surnames: KEACH, RARDIN, MINTON, MINTUN, TREADWAY
I wanted to add a bit of a correction here - William KEACH married Eliza Ann MINTON/MINTUN in Louisa County, Iowa on 3 May 1851. Eliza was the daughter of Jacob MINTON/MINTUN and his first wife Rebecca RARDIN. The more common spelling the family used in Iowa was MINTON.

According to the 1900 census, William and Eliza divorced, had 12 children, but only 3 living as of the 1900 census. William served as a 1st Lieutenant during the Civil War, was residing in a National Soldiers' home in Los Angeles County, California in the 1900 census, died there in 1902 and was buried in the National Cemetery at Los Angeles. Eliza was residing with their daughter in the 1900 and 1910 census in Kansas City, Missouri. She died in Hutton Valley Township, Howell County, Missouri on 22 June 1914 and was buried in Kansas City.

The 1856 Iowa State Census of Louisa County shows brothers William and Elias KEACH as residents, with their wives and a number of children in each family (transcript available on a Louisa County website). Elias was listed as having been an Iowa resident for 5 years (1851 - the year brother William married there). William is still there in 1860 (I haven't looked for Elias) with a number of children, but by the 1870 census of Bardolph, McDonough County, Illinois, only son Walter B. KEACH is listed. There are no known KEACH family burials in Louisa County, and I have yet to check to see if there are any in Bardolph Cemetery. Daughter Sadie E. was born in Kansas during 1874, and I can't find the family in the 1880 census. At this point, I would assume the 3 living children in 1900 were son Walter B., daughter Sadie E. TREADWAY, and another child born after the 1870 census. That still leaves about 6 children that haven't been found in census records. I should also point out that William filed for a disability pension from the state of Utah in 1890. No doubt his pension file would have additional information on his children, given either by William or Eliza, who did receive a widow's pension.
