I am a decendant of the Youngstown, Ohio Kayati family. My name is Martha Guidosh Altier. My grandmother was Elizabeth Kayati, daughter of Andrew and Suzanne. My grandmother passed away in the 1990's at the age of 96. My grandmother had 5 children, George, John, William, Edward and Betty. My father is John who is currently 81 years old.
My grandmother married John Guidosh Sr.in about 1916. I have 3 sons, ages 22, 20, 18.
I remember all of the Kayati children from family reunions. I cherish all the memories of those reunions, We had over 100 decendants at those reunions!! Happy New Year to Kayati's everywhere!!

Are you familiar with an Erja Guidosh that married John Rosepiler? She was probably born around 1850 or 1860ish. I think they lived around eastern ohio(east liverpool) or western pennsylvania(beaver county).

HERMITAGE, PA. – There will be services at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Betty S. (Guidosh) Bell, 78, formerly of Hubbard, Ohio and Yorktown, Ind., who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at John XXIII Home.

Betty was born Sept. 1, 1931 in Hubbard, Ohio a daughter of John and Elizabeth (Kayati) Guidosh, and was a granddaughter of Hungarian immigrants.

In 1935, at the age of four, Betty was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and lived a long and productive life.

She was a 1949 graduate of Hubbard High School, and had formerly worked at Westinghouse Electric in Sharon, Pa. from 1949 to 1952. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother.

Her husband, Clifford J. Bell, whom she married April 19, 1952, died March 19, 1998.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Curtis J. Bell of Franklinville N.J. and Clifford Jay Bell of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. She also leaves her brothers, William Guidosh and Edward Guidosh; several nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George and John Guidosh.

There will be calling hours on Friday Oct 2, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
