I have searched high and low as to the cause of death of this my great great grandfather. There is some family tradition that I'm trying to validate. Does anyone know how he met his end?

Was he buried in Fairy, or Hamilton Co. TX? If so, I have information of interest.

I do not know where he was buried. His grave has been lost to the family. I had an aunt who knew, but she wouldn't talk about him. He was my great-great-grandfather. I have learned some of the details of his death. He was shot by US Deputy Marshall Woody and later died of those injuries in Meridian, TX. He was wanted on charges of murder in Houston. I have not been able to find anything relating to those charges.

Thank you for any information you might have. I hate it when history gets lost.

I've read some of the old stories about the events leading up to his death. I'm afraid he may have been buried in the cemetery in Meridian in an unmarked grave, although that is just my best guess at present. I'm also interested in the charges pending out of Houston Co. As you may know, the warrant for his arrest was returned unserved before he was shot by either Woody or the Deputy Sheriff, White.

My email address is: cblakleytx@gmail.com I live in Iredell, between Meridian and Fairy.

I think I've answered this by saying I have not found that location either.
