C/Kavanagh or variation of this name .. South Australia during WWII

Surnames: KEATING, CAVANAGH, KAVANAGH, HUNT, JORDAN
Hell, my Dad is descended from a Patrick Joseph KEATING who came to Australia in the late 1880s from Cahirsiveen in Ireland. He married a woman named Agnes JORDAN, whose origins we don't know.

During World War II dad was en route through Adelaide in South Astralia and his mum, (Eileen KEATING, but now married to a man named Alan HUNT) descended from the above people, organised some relative, living in Adelaide at the time, to meet the troop train and give him some fruit, cake, etc.

Dad believes that in this same family there was a young man in the (RAAF) Air Force, whose name might have been C/Kavanagh. We are not really sure which side of hte family the relative may have come from.

Just hoping this information may ring a bell with someone.

Best wishes to all who seek .. Trisha

Hi Trisha

I just saw this post (obviously a few years late) and thought I would reply. My grandfather was in the RAAF during WWII. His name was Francis Aloysuis Kavanagh and he served from 1939 to 1948. He was probably not the only Kavanagh to serve in the RAAF during the war but he was definitely one of them.
Hope this gets to you and helps a bit
