I can trace my line back to this Abraham Kauble, but based on the census records I believe he was born in 1806 or 07 not 1810. He and his family are listed twice on the 1850 census as Abraham Cobble and Abram Cobble. On one, he is age 40 and on the other he is age 44. On all subsequent census records his age reflects the older of the two.
My great grandfather, Abraham Kauble, is the son of John B and Leah (Bauer) Kauble. That would make us related. On the 1900 census Leah is listed as living with my great grandfather and his family in Kansas and is shown as a widow. I have not been able to find a record of John's death.
Both my dad and his cousin separately determined that Abraham Kauble (dob 1806) was the son of Joseph Kable/Cable who was the son of Jonathan Cable, however they did not record what the source of that information may have been. My dad did say he thought he had come across it in Salt Lake City at the Family Research library. I would really like to compare notes with you and see if we could clarify the father of this earliest Abraham.
