I don't know the birth date or parents of this John Kaub, and his death is approx. He and his wife died of a plague and left orphaned boys behind. The children did not know how to spell their surname, so one (John who married Catherine Beeghley) used KAUB and another son (Jacob who married Christian Kiem) used KOUB. They both came to Kansas. I haven't seen the names you listed as part of this family, but who knows?

My maiden name of Kaub comes from my great grandfather Ernest. I went to live with my Aunt at the age of 8, during hard times when we lived in Iowa. Do you know of an Ernest Kaub? I didn't know my real father, he wasn't around when I was born. But I was given the name Kaub. I haven't been able to find any relation. My mother was African American. Are your Kaub's from Germany?

My grandfather is the only Ernest Kaub I know. His full name is Ernest Elroy Kaub, born Jun-06-1893 in Centropolis, KS. He had four sons, Elroy J., Frank C., and twins Floyd I. and Fred I. All were born in Franklin County, KS in or near Ottawa. In WWII, Frank served in the Navy, Floyd in the Army, Fred in the Marines, Elroy was married and a farmer and did not serve. If any of this helps, reply for more information.

This is so long from your post-I hope it finds you. My ggg grandfather is Peter Kaub, b. 14 Oct 1803 in Somerset, Pa. He married Elizabeth Miller, b. 2 Jul 1805 in Somerset, the daughter of Peter P. Miller and Barbara Yoder. I have no information about Peter Kaub's parents. I suspect he may have been an orphan, or perhaps forced to leave home early due to death of a father? He and Elizabeth migrated to Ohio, then to Lagrange, Indiana where they died. If any of this sounds like a match, or if you have any clues for me, I would be grateful to hear from you.
