Jean Mundell, age 76 of Monticello, formerly of Annandale and Buffalo, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Monticello-Big Lake Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale. Rev. DJ Lura will officiate and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery of Albert Lea. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Wednesday at the church. A prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Barbara Jean Mundell was born February 22, 1932 to Arthur and Luella (Olson) Katzung in Albert Lea. She was married to Gerald Mundell for 32 years. Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Annandale, Camp Friendship Auxiliary and the Annandale Improvement Club. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, and dining out. Jean was a very social person, loving to spend time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Peter Mundell & Michael Wetzel of Maple Grove and Lauren & Dan Wipper of Clearwater; former husband, Gerald Mundell; and brother, David & Karen Katzung of Vancouver, WA. She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Mundell; and parents, Arthur & Luella.
