We are also Kasal family. Father, Paul was Bohemian & was born in Baltimore, MD around 1924. Mother is German with last name Hanel.
Our entire Kasal family, with exception of my brother Mark (who lives in CA) is still in Baltimore Maryland. Grandfather was Joseph Kasal & don't know when he & his brothers & sisters arrived on east coast. Do you have any other relatives in that area??

I am also related to the Kasal families. I believe that Pauline and Emil were related to my great-grandfather, Joseph Kasal of Nebraska (married to Mary Charvat). I believe Emil may have been his brother? I remember my grandfather speaking about "Paulene and Emil". Also, my family was from Bohemia as well, unfortunately, I don't know where. Please contact me at Magicdaddy@aol.com.

Hi Carol, I don't know if we are related, but I do know that my great-grandfather was Joseph W. Kasal, born 8/5/1883 and died December, 1953. I don't when he came to Nebraska. He married Mary Charvat of Douglas County, Nebraska. I don't know how many children they had, but I know that my grandmother, Helen Marie and my aunt, Anne, were two of their children. They had more, I just cannot remember. I remember the names of Emil, Agnes, Paulene...There may have been a Joe too. I'm pretty sure that Emil and Paulene lived in another state, and they may have been married to each other (not brothers and sisters). If you can add anything to this puzzle, please email me at Magicdaddy@aol.com.

I just returned from a Kasal family reunion in Delores, CO. I am currently researching the Kasal family tree and it appears we may have family in common. My grandfather is Vaclav James Kasal born sept 28th 1875 in the Krucemburg, Bohemia. He was married to Bessie Jane Willford of Crete, NE on May 27th 1902. Her parents were George Alexander Willford and Lucinda G. Wood. They were married July 15th 1873. I know they lived in Crete NE and Moorefield, NE. My grandfather James Vaclav Kasal came to the states in about 1894. He was a cabinet maker. I know he came in around Philadelphia from Antwerp, Belgium. He then traveled to Wilber, NE. After marriage he and his wife moved to delores CO. by covered wagon. I have found a number of Kasals in the old country. Most are from Krizova (formerly Krucemburk) There are several with the first name of Vaclav. The most recent in the old country are from Josef and Anna. Their childeren were all born between 1828 and 1838. I do not have the generation between them and my grandfather. I do have this tree back to 1734. I do know that my grandfathers mother had a cousin here in Wilber, NE where he worked in 1894. He also had an uncle, his father half brother who lived in St. Joseph MO. If this appears to be related to your family I would like to exchange more family history. Thanks

He later traveled to Curtis, Nebraska where he worked for George Wilford and married Bessie Wilford. He had a brother, Anton and a sister Josie. His mother's name was Maria Musiel. Any kin to any of you?

My grandfather was Charles George Kasal, born in Nebraska about 1886-7.. His parents were from Bohemia (1910 census says Aush. Bohemia). He had brothers Edward who moved to California, Joe, John and Anton who lived in Omaha, Nebraska in 1930 according to an obituary. A relative also added that grandfather had a sister called Josie. She also thought there was a sister named Mary, but that could have been Josie also. There was also a brother named Frank.

Census info so far has turned up a Frank Kasal in the 1880 Saline Co. Nebraska with daughters Anna and Mary and a son named Frank. So far I have not been able to connect the 1880 Frank Kasal to my grandfather. The 1900 Soundex for Nebraska is grossly overexposed redering it next to worthless. My line by line search for others in 1900 has turned up Anna in Saline Co, the search will continue. Anton (age 38) is in the 1920 census in Omaha with wife named Rose and two daughters.

How does this fit in to the rest of the Kasal-Nebraska puzzle? I can use some help.

I am researching my husband's
grandmother's family. Her name was
Beatrice J. Kasal b. Jan 26, 1907
in St. Louis MO, d. Sept. 9, 1985.
Beatrice's father was Ignatius
Kasal and her mother Mary Tintera, both born in St. Louis MO. FAMILY tradition is that Beatrice was "Bohemian", and your message seems to confirm the origins of the name Kasal. If you know of any connection between our famlies please contact me via e-mail at mvvogler@webtv.net

We seem to be getting close but I do not have all the required connections. In our family line Anton Kasal is the brother of Vaclav (James) Kasal my grandfather born Sept 28th 1875. Josie was his sister. James Kasal also had a neice by the name of Mary Jenosky (married name) sorry I do not have the dates yet. In talking to my mother she tells me that she knew of another Frank but he was a Willford. James Kasal married Bessie June Willford born 1883 in Crete, Saline, Neb. Frank was her brother and he was born in 1877. I understand there is an article in the Nov 16, 1882 Crete newspaper about his death by fire. I was have some older records from Krizova formerly Krucemburk where a Frantisek Kasal born Feb 2, 1836 was married to Marie on Nov 17, 1863 in Krizova. Frantiseks father was Josef and mother Anna. The children were Josef born Dec 9, 1828, another Marie born Feb 23, 1831, Vaclav July 26, 1833 and Anna born Aug2, 1838. I think we are both missing the same pieces and this would be the children of Franktisek Kasal and wife Marie above. I am currently researching the ship records of my grandfather. He is reported to have come to this country on the Swcerland sailing from Antwerp, Belgium. He came into Philadelphia around 1892 or 1893. He then traveled to by way of Chicago to Wilber Neb and on to St Joseph,Mo where he worked for an uncle with the railroad. He then returned to Neb with his brother in law and opened a blacksmith and wagon shop in the town of Kramer. After a year he then moved to Crete. He later had a building business for 12 years in Frontier. They then moved to CO in 1917. Let me know if this helps. My email is tntndallas@aol.com
