I don't know any of my Alaskan cousins, but maybe I should try to contact one of them to see if they know more from family history. I hesitate to do it, I know I personally would feel funny if a complete stranger contacted me and asked about family information!
I think I will also search under the name Kozabetnekof

Go to www.familysearch.org, click on family search centers and enter your location. They have centers all over the world, staffed by volunteers. They can borrow many of the records from the library in Salt Lake for a nominal fee. You don't have to be a church member to utilize the centers, and the volunteers are very helpful.

Just keep in mine that the name spelling could be from ignorance because someone didn't bother to ask how to spelling ones name. Although, I found it spelled like this from someone idea of transcribing it. It can be difficult to read some census because someone decided to be an idiot and write on top of the name with letters and numbers for whatever reason they're using it for, but never consider anyone else going to read it. -- Matt

good advice, and already knew it. on one census my grandfathr Grant was listed as Grunt! this kind of name can be spelled Korabelnikoff, Karabelnikov, etc. I'm open to anybody!
still, not too many records out there

John Karabelnikoff passed away June 1, 2009, at a local health care facility.

Memorial graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Mountain View Cemetery, 23 West, Pocatello.

In leiu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Pocatello Humane Society or the Pocatello Art Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15ht Ave., Pocatello. Online guest book and condolences available at www.cornelsionfh.com.
