My current family tree doesn't have Edwin probably trying to find where he fitted into the extended family

Thanks for the reply
Kind regards
Kylie Bartley

Hello,
my mother Anita Huber (birth name Johns) is born in Schwerin, Germany and she is doing ancestry research. Wilhelm Kann born in 1858 in Eldena in Mecklenburg, Germany went 1875 to USA. He was the brother of my great-grandmother Pauline Kann (married Johns).
We were not able to find out your correct telephonnumber to get in contact with you.
It would be great if you could get in contact with us.
(internet@cc-huber.de).
Best regards
Christian Huber
Hi Pat!
My Father-in-Law happens to be Lee Ambrose Kann who's Great Grand Parents is William and Mary Jane. He was just sharing stories with me the other night about how it was growing up in Guttenburg and the family history. Lee was actually in the community Guttenburg Press many times throughout the years. I did find a Pelzer family tree on his grandmother's side includes his grandparents (William Hubert Kann and Josephine Angelina Pelzer) at http://www.alpinecom.net/austin/Pelzer.htm.

I'd also suggest contacting those mentioned by Dave Kann. Kann Imports is still owned by Barbara Kann (sister of Lee) and daughter of Carl and Juanita. I'm quite certain Barbara will have all the information you'd like. Awesome family!

Thanks so much for replying Christine. My father mentioned recently that some Egyptian relatives were in touch with his cousins but I wasn't sure if that was true! I'll contact your father as I'm really interested in this side of the family. My grandmother died well before I was born and I know very little about that side of our family.

Trent

Hello,

I am the great-granddaughter of Veronica Kann, one of Mustapha's daughters. My ancestry.com family tree is as yet underdeveloped due to time constraints, however the family tree has been well researched and documented by my grandfather, Kevin Hamling.

Please contact him at markev56@hotmail.com and he will happily help you with finding descendants. He is well connected with them here and back in Egypt. I hope you are successful in developing your family tree.

Christine

Looking for descendants of Mustapha Kann (changed from Khan around 1900). Mustapha married Mary Ellen (Nellie) Kearney in either Melbourne or Kyneton around 1894 and settled in the suburb of Fitzroy in Melbourne from 1900. They lived in Rockhampton, Queensland from around 1895-1900. They had around 8 children including my grandmother Nuzalie (also Nellie). The other children were Sydney (died WW1), Elsie, William, Joseph, James, Veronica (Vera) and Mary. Mustapha immigrated from Egypt sometime in the 1880-90s and died in 1954 at aged 103.

I have lots of family research and photos of Salomon, Robert, Ludwig, Johanna, as well as your grandfather and my father to share.
Thanks for the quick reply. I only know from a 1910 census report that Dan Kann & wife lived in Taylor, Ward 6, Lackawana Co, Pa.

I believe Taylor is near Scranton, Pa.

The 1910 census shows Dan as George's Father, but only lists Mrs. Dan as the wife so no first name.

George was one of 7 children that I listed in the first email to you. I would like to take Dan Kann back further. I am not sure how your line would connect, but info and Kann kin to 1900 in your line could be helpful.

Hi Liz good to hear from you again! The research on my Kann family is going well, I keep thinking I am going to finish it up but always wanting more. I have also taken a detour and have been trying to do some on my mothers families. The Brickers are the ones that are giving me problems. According to a paper of my grandmothers they come from West Pennsboro Twp. Cumberland Co. If you need any more info on the Herbert M. Kann family I might be able to help he was my great-grandfather's nephew. You can email me at....

shaas@dejazzd.com or

srkhaas@yahoo.com

So stange, sounds just like what I have heard and researched as well. My Grandfaters name was William Ernest Kann, My Dad's name was Bruce Edward Kann. He had one brother Mark Kann that was a little younger. My Grandmothers name was Edna.
Billy Kann was an Inn Keeper. Came to New York w/his wife and my Dad, I believe. They settled in Lewis Washington for awahile then on to Oakland,Ca. Billy Kann became an import/export Man. Traveled to the Orient and cared for a few families. Also there was an Uncle that was brought to the states to work on the Manhatten Project. Any of this sound familar?

Grace Emma DEEDS KANN

Hi Susan!
Yes! Regarding your message last August 14th, it is "my" Grace Emma / Emma Grace DEEDS. Thank you. I still can not prove who her mother is, but I believe it is Eliza Stock from Clear Spring MD. I believe Eliza died in child birth or shortly after. I need an exact death date for Grace Emma first, before I can go any further, In hopes that her mother's name is on her death cert. I do know that Grace Emma died after 1930, probably in South Bend IN.

But you can see she is not very high on my priority list right now.

I have gone back to work on "my family" for a while, my Mom's side. Hows your Kann research going? Anything I can help with? Yes, in answer to one of your questions, I have a few subscriptions, and I've been doing this a while Sometimes when I get stuck, I like to take a "detour" for a couple of days.

So, need any help? Make it easy! Liz

I am searching for the family tree of Emma Louise Kann (Bachman) - my grandmother.

Her father was George Kann (abt 1859)

Her siblings were: Henry, Sadie, Minnie, Ezra, Edith, & George (1890-1974). All lived in the Wilkes-Barre, Pa area.

Any additional help would be great. I can give you the recent histories of their children, but can't get beyond George the father going into the past.

I do not know if you can help me at all, but worth the chance. In 1900 census there was a girl Mary Tylock that lived with the William Kann family in Maryland. On the 14 Sept 1902, Mary had a son named him Benjamin Franklin, she was not married. In Early 1908, Mary tylock arrived in Dunkirk Ny with her new husband Victor Ruzycki, whom she married in Maryland. However Benjamin was not with her.It wasn't until somewhere between 1920- 1922 that Benjamin showed up in Ny. Lived with his granparents and was listed as their son, which was of course not possible for they had daughter only 3 months older than him.He told everyone he was raised in Maryland by his fathers family, but would not give any other info, even to his wife.I have always wondered if he was a Kann.He was my husbands grandfather and its hard to do family history on someone when you have no way of knowing where the male line goes. If you have any info on Benjamin Franklin Tylock- Unknown, please share it with me. I would love to be able to continue the male line on my husbands family, Thank You

I believe that he came out from Germany with his brother, Hans, on the Beausite in 1866. If you are still interested, we could compare information.

The George Kann in York Co. 1850 is a different George (mine was in Cumberland, Adams Co. Pa. in 1850) but a relative. The Kanns first settled in York Co.(Hellam Twp.) my line eventually left for Dover area of York then Adams Co. then Franklin Co. so there are alot of George Kanns in the York, Adams and Franklin Counties related in some way. My George's last name was spelled Kohn on the 1860 and 1870 census but Kann in 1850 and 1880.
I don't know who Sarah Catherine Kann married but I would like to know, if you find out please let me know. the David A. you mentioned was my great-grandfather David Alexander Kann.
