Kam surname, Hong Kong>CAN
Hello,
My name is Wendy Kam and I am searching for family members. I am hoping to find out more about my ancestors and family history.
I do not have much information about my past, but I do know that my grandparents and my father lived in Hong Kong before immigrating to Canada about 25-30 years ago.
If anyone can help me I would sincerely appreciate it. If you have any questions or information, please email me.
*Thank you

Hi,
My surname is Kam too....I guess we have the same ancestors....I've been wondering myself where did this surname originate...I went to some site and it said the Kam surname originated from England. I'm not sure whether it is true.

Hi Wendy! My surname is KAM also & most of my relatives are here in the Philippines but only few are we. My dad told me that during the world war 2 his Father (My grandfather) migrated from China (I'm not sure where specifically) to Northern Samar, Philippines. :)

Re: Kam surname, Hong Kong>CAN
I recently came across this thread and not sure whether it's actually going.
My surname is Kam, and in Cantonese this is written as 甘. I live in London, England and have been trying to find out more information about my possible ancestry but it is very difficult as I cannot read or write Cantonese!
I do know that my great-grandfather was Hakka and lived in Hong Kong for a period of time, before returning to Malaysia or possibly Singapore where he is buried. Unfortunately my family is somewhat fragmented on the 'Kam' side meaning it's difficult for me to ask for more information.
