Thank you for your reply.I am not positive that they were from Proboszczewice although the information I found certainly lead me there.I am positive that my grandmother told me that her mother Antonette Siecienska was from Lipno area and her sister Franceszka Siecinska(Siecienska)had her hometown listed as Romanski on her immigration paperwork.Am I safe to assume that Romanski is Rumunki? Will the name Rumunki help me to narrow down the most likely parish or are there too many Rumunki's for it to be of any use?I appreciate the information on Gozdowo parish and will follow up on it.Also thanks for letting me know that Siecienski And Siecinski are 99% the same-that alone will help my search tremendously-Most appreciative Carolyn

Dear Carolyn,
Microfilms you can find : https://familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainfra...
but you need to put the name of the parish not just village. By the way in XVIII and XIX centuries the name "Rumunki" had the meaning that it was just few houses which just started the new village. So you could find Rumunki Czarne (currently the name is Czarne) in parish Wielgie and many, many others. Just few of them remain till today with the name started with Rumunki.

Anyway - for Gozdowo parish
1808-1825 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 730094
1826-1842 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 730095
1843-1856 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 730096
1857-1865 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 730097
1866 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 1191002 Item 16
1867-1879 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 1191003
1880-1884 births, deaths, marriages - microfilm 1733682 Items 12-16

For the begining I think it is enough :)
Happy hunting :) Bogdan

Dear Carolyn,

In fact I don't know if the microfilms will be available in local library or you have to order them. I use a library in Warsaw and in most cases I have to order microfilms. Perhaps you should start from the microfilm or 2 microfilms which are the closes to the dates you are sure the your ancestors lived in the parish. If you have any problems with interpretation of records in Polish or Russian - you can send them to me - I will try to help. In case or records in Russian - quite often they have in brackets first and last name in Polish language. I suggest you also to join a list:

There are a lot of usuful information posted by list members and you can get a lot of help!

Bogdan

I am also looking for my Kajkowski family who immigrated from the Plock area in 1894 or before.
Father's name was Zygmeal or Josef Kajkowski, born 1833, mother's name was Sigmunta or Clementine Gross, born 1844. Children were Sophie, born 1862, Florence, born 1867, Hedwig, born 1871, Stephania, who also had a twin, Stephan, born 1875. I can only find a record of Josef, Clementine & Stephania arriving in Montreal in 1894. They then, around 1895, moved to Chicago, IL.

I am also looking for Constance Kornatowski who is married to Florence Kajkowska in Montreal in 1895. Then they also move to Chicago. I also found that Constance worked for the Deering co. in Montreal & worked for International Harvester in Chicago.

Thank You,
Bruce

Hello Bruce,

I have good news for you. First of all our common ancestor was:
1) Antoni Kajkowski (DOB and DOD not know) & Marianna. No data about them. They have 2 sons (for sure more children but I have no data or no proof about others)
2.1 - Wawrzyniec Kajkowski born about 1742, died about 1807 in Kruszczewo (willage about 5 miles from Płock) (my ancestor). He was a blacksmith.
2.2 Andrzej (Andrew) Kajkowski born 25-11-1763 (died 07- August 1828 in Kruszczewo) ; wife Julianna Kujawska; They had 8 children - quite many descendant from this line emigrated to USA....Let mi know if you are interested in more detailes....about descendant of Andrzej...It is a little bit more than 1000 records I have about Andrzej's descendants.

2.2.1 The youngest child of Andrzej Kajkowski was Marcin Kajkowski born 7 Sept 1799 in Kruszczewo (died 13-04-1882 in Golejewo). He was a blacksmith. His wife was Barbara Siecińska (b.5 Dec 1803 Gozdowo; d: 18 Now 1869 in Golejewo. Sister of Barbara Siecieński - Marianna Sieciński was my 3x great grandmother of me (wife of my Joseph Kajkowski) . So we have also common ancestors from Sieciński site. They had 4 childer: Marcin, Joseph, Kazimierz, Marianna (female) I don't have exact date of birth

2.2.1.1 According to my dat Joseph was born about 1831..in Golejewo (estimation from his other records), but it could be 1833. He had 2 wifes. He was living in Bielsk (about 8 miles from Płock) He was a carpenter and later a miller.

a) Jadwiga Domeracka. They had a dauther - Kajkowska Marianna born 23- March 1852 in Bielsk. She married Ignacy Bukry in 1873 and I don't have any further records.
b) Zygmunta (male version is Zygmunt) Paulina Gross. She was born about 1836 in Ciekszyn (I have not identified the location). They married 2 July 1854.
Accordind to my data they had 4 children:

Anna born 25 July 1860 in Bielsk and died 4 April in Bielsk.
Antoni (Anthony). born 23 February 1862 in Bielsk. Died 13 July 1863 Bielsk.
Florentyna (Florence) born 29 June 1864 Bielsk. I double check her original birth record and I'm sure that she was born in 1864.
Józefa (Josephine) born 8 January 1877 in Rudowo (Bielsk parish).

I have no further records and most probably you have more. I will be interested to look into original records (if you have). I've not information about their emigration.

By the way - There were few Kajkowski's families lived in Chicago- previously living also in Bielsk....- Like Stanley Kajkowski- he was a stage actor in Chicago, for some time owner of the polish theater in Chicago....There is a descendant of him on ancestry.com .

When I was working on "emigration" I've found in one of the census that

Daughter of Joseph Kajkowski and Zygmunta Gross - Sophe born 15-05- 1862 (?) died in 1935 in Chicag was a wife of Anthony Kwasiborski. Her son Michael b about 1884 (in Poland) died 26-11-1913....

Does it fit to your knowledge?

Pehaps we could together find other records to build history of Joseph and Zygmunta Gross family? I hope so
