I am searching for descendants of Charles Francis Kaffer and his wife Charlotte Stevens Kaffer, married in Atchison, Kansas circa 1885. They had two children, Stephen Lisle and Olive. Stephen was a mining engineer in Honduras. He lived in Deming, New Mexico, and died in El Paso, Texas in 1960. He married Charlene Briggs in June 1915. He had 3 children: Margaret, Jeanne, Stephen Charles who was killed in WWII.
Olive married Charles (?Maley) and had one daughter Charlotte born 15 Sep 1924.
Please respond if you have any information on this family. Thank you!

For Doug Kaffer: Thank you for your message. I know your grandfather and have visited him in Drytown. He gave me quite a bit of family information. I saw him again in Joliet last summer at the family reunion, and we contimue to keep in touch. He is a very nice man. I will also call your dad. Thank you for your help. I have started a family website, so please send me your email address and I will add you on to it if you are interested.

It has been some time since I did any genealogy searching so I just noticed your listing. Charles Francis Kaffer was my grandfather...he lived in Atchison, Kansas and died before I was born. But I knew my Grandmother well...Charlotte (I was named after her)...Have been in touch with Kathy Hundemer about the family. Just discovered another relative... a second cousin who lives on the east coast so I am spending more time searching now. I am 78 and live in Louisville, Ky.Good to enrich family knowledge....Charlotte Hall

I just did a search for the Kaffer surname and checked to see if there was anything about the family in Joliet. I noticed that you mentioned a reunion in Joliet. I am not directly related but I had some Kaffer relatives that lived in Joliet, Illinois. My great-great grandmother had a cousin by the name of Frances Donahoe. Frances was the daughter of Edward Donahoe and Bridget Feehan. The Donahoe's where from Wilimington, Illinois. Frances married John Kaffer and moved to Joliet. John and his brothers ran a hardware store together, right?

I just stumbled across their family plot in Mt. Olivet Cemetery earlier this week while I was looking for another part of my family. In the plot is burried John and Frances. Their two sons John and Dean. John's wife Isabelle is also buried there. I have only limited information on this part of my family. If there is anything I could possibly give you let me know and I will be happy to e-mail it to you. I have only been researching them for a little over a year now so have limited information. Thank you for your time steven wright
