Could anyone tell me if Keding would be a variation of the name Kaeding. My Grandmother was a German from Russia- I believe from the Volhynian region. I believe her parents to be August Keding and Marianna Bereske. Thanks.

Yes you probably are related. It all depends on how you roll your tongue and the officials that transcribe it when people arrived in the country. Keding and Kaeding are similar depending on all of this. You may also spell it Keeding as well. When searching on the net or through records, take all of this into consideration.

Hello
In my research for the the name, I've found it spelled - Keding, Kayden, Kading, Kaeding and Kethingh...... The one I'm looking for is Adolph/Adolf Kading m. Mathilda/Mathilde Zilkie/Schielke. I recently found some information that leads me to believe they came from the same area your looking at. Mine came to Canada circa 1913/1914 where Mathilda died in 1924 and Adolf then remarried to a Stebner. The only other information I have is that Adolf had a sister named Dorothy who married a Daft. May I ask what your grandmothers name was ?

My grandmother's name was Wilhelmenia Keding. I have since discovered that her father was August Keding from Vladimir Volyinia who died April 25 1926 GR Wessolwen (sp Raudensee), Kr Angerburg. Her mother was Anna Maria Boresky (Borowska) Her siblings were Adam Keding (1875) Justine Keding (1877), Fredrick Keding (1880), Louise Keding (1894), and Herman Keding (unknown) I do not have a Matida or Adolphe listed for any of these individuals. Sorry. Have you tried the St. Petersburg Archives online?

Hi Norm
I would say its exactly the same family. Only difference is Lydia's husband was Adolph Kading not Arthur. I decend from the oldest of the first 3 children. Lydia and Adolph child was Daniel. Did you know Adolph and Lydia also had a child named Mabel before Daniel? She died in infancy. Have the burial info if you need. Which Stebner do you decend from ? Would be more than happy to share. What state/province do you live in ? Please contact me.

Darcy -

I am the grand daughter of Willi S. Keding (1922), whom I believe is the son of Fredrick Keding (1880). He has 6 brothers and sisters; Helmut, August, Edmund, Frieda, Paul and Charlotte.

Please let me know if any of this information sounds correct/familiar to you.

Thanks!
