I am looking for information on the Kachelmeier family from the New Ulm area of MN. I am searching for her parents as well as other ancestors on back to their country of origin. I believe them to be of Austrian decent, but I am not sure. If anyone out there has information on this family name I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm researching the Bartl/Kachelmeier Family History. I don't have much information to go by and I'm hoping that you are willing to share information?
Thanks,
Kim

Caroline was the daughter of Anton Kachelmeier and Walburga Simmet. Anton was the son of Joseph Kachelmeier, born Sept. 16, 1807, Austria. I have much more info. on family, but not any more on where in Austria he is from.

HI. My grandmothers maiden name was Kachelmeier. She and them lived in Sheboygan, WI. Her fathers name was John. I also believe they were of austrian or bohemian descent. Please email me and hopefully I can give you some info that you dont already have!!!!

Dear Lydia,

I am interested in the Kachelmeier surname also. Your Kachelemier surname is intertwined with my Siegl family of Volmau, Bohemia.

Johann Kachelmaier (1802-1852) married Anna Maria Siegl (1802-1863). Their son Frank (1845-) maried Magdalena Fellner. Their known children Frank (1872-1938) married Frances Halamka (1885-1980) lived in Slinger, WI.; Barbara (1866-1943) married Wenceslaus Meingast (1859-1930)lived in Milwaukee, WI; and Catherine (1866-1943) married William Schneider (1869- ) lived in Chilton. WI. These families were from Hasselbach, Bohemia a few km north east of Vollmau.

Karl Kachelmaier/eier (say 1874) married Maria Siegl (1874-1909) and lived in Hasselbach.

Anton Kachelmeier (say 1875-1919) married Katharina Siegl (1876-1951) lived in Vollmau and after the explusion in Fruth im Wald, Bavaria.

Any connection?

I know that this post is more than 10 years old but I am wondering what you have found out about the Kachelmeiers. My great-grandfather was Alois Kachelmeier from New Ulm, MN. My father did a lot of research about our ancestry. Alois and his wife Josepha immigrated from Vollmau which was in Bohemia (part of the Austrio Hungarian empire). Sometimes documents list that they were from Austria because of that. Vollmau is in what is now Czech Republic. There is a great book written about the German Bohemians that settled in New Ulm. BTW, there were 2 Alois Kachelmyers from Vollmau. One of them settled in Idaho and a lot of the hints are for him. My great-grandfather ended up in Spokane, WA after his wife died. He left his 6 children in New Ulm at a convent/orphanage.
