I am attached to the Kaake family through Susannah Kaake d/o Adam Kaake and Hannah Prentice. Susannah married my gg-grandfathers brother, and following his death and the death of my gg-gradfathers wife, the two married and added my great grandafther to their large group of children. I would love to hear more about the Kaakes beyond this portion of the family.

I think I am a descendant of Susanna Kaake. I am a descendant of Susan Kaake, b. 1814, m. Angus Boyd bef. 1839. They lived in Bruce County, Ontario after 1860. Susan d. in 1883 in Missouri. They had 6 children: John, Sarah, Gillian, Angus, Hugh and Catherine. John, Sarah and Catherine stayed in Ontario. Gillian, Angus and Hugh went to Missouri. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated.

I believe this Susanna Kaake is my Susan Kaake who married Angus Boyd before 1839. They had 6 children: John, Sarah, Gillian, Angus, Hugh and Catherine. Susan was born in about 1814 and died in 1883.

You are correct, Andrew's daughter Susanna married BOYD. My elusive Susannah has turned out to be a TRIMMER, likely the daughter of Anthony TRIMMER/TRIMPER/TROMPE of Etobicoke Twp. and sister of Helena NELL/KING & Daniel TRIMMER.

Hi folks, I am looking for any info regarding a Lovina Henrietta Rebecca KAAKE. All I know was she married a John Henry Smith in Ontario, Canada (cannot locate marriage) and had a son John Smith abt 1903 (can't find that either) and a daughter Mona in 1917. Apparantly she died abt 1925 (can't find that either) and John may have remarried, Mona was adopted out and John Jr died abt 1938 (can't locate either). It is strange to have all this info but not able to locate any solid B,M or death registrations on ancestry or anywhere. Does anyone recognize a Lovina Kaake??? Thanks Jackie

I am interested in Rebecca Kaake who married William Harries s/o Joseph and Dinah Harries of Etobicoke. He died January 1844, and it looks like Rebecca remarried a widower Robert Greenbury (or Greenberry) and moved to Walpole twp, Haldimand county.
She had 5 children with William Harries who are mentionned in the will of their grandfather Joseph Harries dod 1847. Harris, Willaim born Upper Canada 18 in 1851 Harris, Martha born Upper Canada 15 Harriss, Joseph 14 Harris, John 12 Harris, Abraham 10 on 1851 census.
Anybody researching that line? I have information on the Harries in Etobicoke and Cumberland, England.

Any idea whether this Manuel Cake (Kaake) is another son of Andrew?
From St.James Cathedral register 19 February, 1822, Banns, Manuel CAKE, bachelor, and Betsy CHRISTNER, spinster, both of the township of Etobicoke. Witnesses, Sally PHILIPS and Andrew CAKE.
I am researching the Christner of Etobicoke as well, and they seem to have come from PA together.
Sally Philips and Andrew Cake are both sons of Andrew Kaake. Plus the Christner also married Prentice and Philips.

Susan Kaake and Angus Boyd
Do you know if your Susannah Kaake was married before she married Angus Boyd? Their first child is born when she is 26.
I am trying to figure out what happened to Jacob Wyant brother of Burgoyne Wyant.
Jacob WIART (Wyant) to Susannah LAKE (should it be Cake you think?) both of Etobicoke, 7 July 1834, by license. Rev. Alexander Stewart, Witnesses: Burgyne Wiart (Wyant) and Rachel Wiart (Wyant) HOme District Marriage Register.
Rachel Wyant, wife of Burgoyne is the sister of Susannah Kaake Boyd. As far as I know, there are no Lake in Etobicoke at this time, but lots of Kaake. My guess is that Jacob Wyant died shortly after the marriage, and before 1839
Any idea on the matter?

Re: Susan Kaake and Angus Boyd
I have often wondered the same thing, but at this point I have no evidence to prove my thoughts. I have not been able to locate a marriage for Susan Kaake and Angus Boyd, but their first child was born in 1839. I have tried to find a marriage for a Susan Wiart or Wiant to a Boyd as well with no luck so far.
At this point I am not ruling out the possibility.
