I too am seeking info about Kaaihue from Kaupo, Maui. My Greatgrandparents were John Lihau Kaaihue Cecelia Kahaleuahi, both from Kaupo, Maui. They in turn had a daughter ?? Kaaihue, my grandmother, then my father David V Kaaihue. I've just started looking again am getting setup so any info would be greatly appreciated.

My children's great-grandmother was Helen Kaliko Kaaihue, she sometimes went by Victoria Kaliko. She was born Dec. 27, 1879 in Kaupo, Maui. Her father: Unknown first name, last name Kaaihue. Her mother: first name Unknown, maiden name Kanohua. Is this any relation to your family?

The only information I have at this time is that my mother-in-laws parents, (and I don't have the first names) the father was Wai Chock and the mother was Helen Kaliko Kaaihue. Both were born in Kaupo, Maui. Helen's parents were: father was first name unknown Kaaihue and mother was first name unknown Kanohua. Helen's sisters and brother were: Lucy Kaupo, Mary-Katherine, Mary-Ann and George.

ALoha,
I am a decendant of the KAAIHUE Ohana. I just read alot of replies that was posted. This is my first time in here. I have one concern. The KAAIHUE Ohana is on my dads side, his mother is Mary Lale Maihui, Mary's mom's name is Josephine Nalani Kaaihue Maihui, Maihui is her married name. But now, Kahaleuahi's is also Ohana, but to my moms side. The Kahaleuahi's comes from Ka'awa Kahaleuahi Haupu Pio Ohana. What happen to this Kahaleuahi name was. In the older days the ohana's at the time had the hardest time to get a job, because back then when families were made they were made in big bundles, anyways, in order for them all to get a job in the same area or Island they all had to have different last names. So what they did back then was they each took a piece of their lastnames and got a job. Back then is not like now days. Now days we all can work at the same place even if we carry the same lastnames, back then they couldn't. I am researching all this, I do have the Geneology Vol books I & II Kaawa. But I do need help with more Info about the KAAIHUE Ohana. You can write me at anytime at mervinmervk@aol.com
