Reposting Karon, Karonny, Karony, Karun, Karuni, КАРУННЬЩ - 1909 Minsk, Belarus

Reposting this thread in hopes of finding out more information:

Looking for the origins of the family КАРУННЬЩ (last two letters of the russian spelling open for debate!)

They came from the area around Minsk and Sluck, Belarus. Arriving at Ellis island between 1908 and 1912. The largest group entered in 1909.
Michal arrived in March 1909 with Nikita arriving with Alexander on November 17. Also with Nikita and Alexander were their cousin Anton, his wife Alexandra and their surviving children Olga, Palatinka, and Alexander. (1910 Census has four children with the names Boleslawa, Corona, Pauline and Alexander.)

The original city in Belarus was written as Zynolodycz, Zabozewo, Zabrzowa, Zabaszi etc!

From Ellis island, they went to Chicago, where they lived in Ward 16 on the 1910 Census with even more family members listed.

All were active in the Russian Orthodox Church.

Over the years, different branches moved from Chicago looking for more opportunities, but older family still talks of reunions in Chicago and in Michigan.

Any help with the original city in Belarus or information on the fate of the other Karons is appreciated.

Other names of interest --Spouses joining the family from Belarus included women with the maiden names of Komiak or Comiak, Komek, and a Step sister name Zinovia Drobina.

Hi my name is Chad Edward Crader and my father's name is Donald Edward Crader. He has never met his father but he is 65 now and always tells it's late, but I'm interested in finding out some info about his father and my grandfather. My dad has a birth certificate with his father's name as Edward Eugene Crader. Just wondering if anybody may know if this person is still alive? Thanks

I live in Tucson, Arizona, so hoping I can find his information to contact him.
Oh ! I did get through. I just decided to call if I got a number. It,s my daughter who has been working on it and she. ran into one of uncle bill's kids on the net. I think she has at least one mistake I did find some documents. Do you have any pictures. I guess you know you look just like your mom. I went to see her and was so happy she was so well take care of. It must have been just before she moved because she was packed up. If I had gone later I would have had a hard time hunting her up. I went with a friend who also knew your mother. She wanted junk food for lunch. She ate hers, and mine. I saw the diabetic paraphernalia. I,m a nurse so I did check her before I left. I love your music. Could I persuade you to comr see us. The kids would love it. Cousin Barbara

I
Andrew KAISER was my grandfathers name when he came from Germany to US. He married my grandmother Laura, and changed his last name by taking her last name which was CRADER. As such, my father was born w/last name CRADER, as was I. My father is Edward Gene Crader (Kaiser).

I'm trying to trace back our Kaiser name...hopefully to Germany. I think my grandmother, Laura Crader was from Marble Hill, MO or Bollinger, MO.

Hi! I have their marriage certificate and wedding photo, and have grown up knowing the children of their children. Oh my goodness! I'm the great-granddaughter of Rose, and my name is also Rose, and I could almost cry, I am so happy to see this. My e-mail address is rcdrakewrites at gmail. Send a message if you'd like to exchange information.

Do you have their marriage certificate? I have the crispy old original with cursive in fading ink, but Barbara's name on it looks like Becola to me. It says they were married in Northumberland County on February 5th, 1906, license number 14409.

But, the children's names and death years match the children of my ancestors John and Barbara exactly; it has to be the same people.

Sorry to be vague. I am just gathering this information and largely relying on the stories of their grandchildren.
The mother's name is Ann or Anna and I don't have the father's information. I cannot find information on Elsie or Loraine until they are married. Cora only exists in the 1910 census. If anyone have any information that can help me out I would appreciate it. I know the family is related to the Affeldt family - but I am missing a generation to connect the dots.

Kalmar, John (Janos) and Barbara (Borbola)

I am trying to find a record of my great grandfather's death. Born Janos Kalmar, (changed to John Kalmar in America).

He was born 22 Sep 1879 in Tét, Gyor-Moson-Sopron, Hungary. He was a miner in Pennsylvania. A pillar robber. He died in the mine. I don't know the date but the range would be between 1930 and 1936.

I know he worked at the Susquehanna Coal Company when he registered for the draft for World War I. Not sure if this is the company that owned the mine he died in or not.

He lived in Northumberland County, PA. He was alive on the 1920 and 1930 Censuses, living in Kulpmont, PA.

He also had a home on Catawissa Mountain earlier but could not pay taxes and had it taken away before he moved to Kulpmont.

His wife was Barbara (Borbola Bencze). She died around 1921 when was in the last trimester of pregnancy. I cannot find her death record either.

I know they were Catholic but at some point (before or after Barbara's death) he left the Catholic Church and become Lutheran.

Janos and Barbara had nine children:
Rose Kalmar 1906 – 1989
Elizabeth Kalmar 1907 – 1993
Helen Kalmar 1909 – 1982
John Kalmar 1910 – 1964
William Kalmar 1911 – 1996
Louis Joseph Kalmar 1913 – 1986
Frank Kalmar 1914 – 1930
Charles Kalmar 1915 – 1994
Julius Kalmar 1919 – 1999

Any and all info, ideas, leads, reference guides or sites welcome!

Karon, Karonny, Karony, Karun, Karuni, КАРУННЬЩ - 1909 Minsk, Belarus

Looking for the origins of the family КАРУННЬЩ (last two letters of the russian spelling open for debate!)

They came from the area around Minsk and Sluck, Belarus. Arriving at Ellis island between 1908 and 1912. The largest group entered in 1909.
Michal arrived in March 1909 with Nikita arriving with Alexander on November 17. Also with Nikita and Alexander were their cousin Anton, his wife Alexandra and their surviving children Olga, Palatinka, and Alexander. (1910 Census has four children with the names Boleslana, Corona, Pauline and Alexander.)

Other names of interest --Spouses joining the family from Belarus included women with the maiden names of Komiak or Comiak, and a Step sister name Zinovia Drobina.
