Mike,
I wasn't thinking that your Ona might be the
same as my Johanne Jusseit. The timing wasn't
right, plus my great grandmother never left
Europe. As far as I know, she died in Lithuania.
It is just that certain given names tend to
repeat within families. Ona/Johanna is definitely
a very common name for that time period in
P>that region. Almost all of the surnames on my
father's side of the family are rare and I
try to contact all those with the same surname
just in case I might get lucky. I have been
searching for over 6 years and have written to
all the Jusseits in Germany without any luck.
So, I keep plodding on. And, yes, I have been
to
www.jusaitis.de several times now; I was
there again last night in case he was able to
kick back his family one more generation. When
I wrote to him a year or so ago, he couldn't
go past what he has there on the web site. I
think I need to see one generation earlier to see
if there is match, but he doesn't have any
more information about his Jusaitis family.
Thanks for getting back in touch with me so
fast. Good luck in your search for your branch
of the Jusaitis family. :)
Susan
