In response to the note about other Juppe's out their.
1) Using familysearch.com I was able to find prehaps what I consider to be the first Juppe. Martin Juppe Born Sept. 5, 1655. Prior to that the father Peter born in 1622 spelled the last name Joppe. Peter had ten children all spelling their last name Joppe. All of Martin's brothers spelled their last name Joppe. All from Seelitz, Leipzig, Saxony (Germany)
2) Martin had four children Maria (female), Michael (m) born 1688, Lorenz (m) born 1693, Hans (m) born 1695.
If that's not confusing enough.
3) Peter Joppe (father of Martin) had a son Hans who had a son Michael who spelled his last name Juppe born 1702.

Then there's a big gap in the data. From my own family history ie. grandfather's, grandfather. Was Born 1795 in Rochlitz, Saxony Germany. He had three children one son John Julius born 7/21/1830 also from Saxony. John Julius had seven children two sons. Peter 8/23/1863 and John 5/20/1867 all born in NYC. Peter had eight children three sons. Peter born 2/2/1895, Herbert born 8/23/1897 (my grandfather) and Ralph born 10/10/1899.

It is not known if these two groups of Juppe's are connected. I have also traced a Joseph Juppe born 1878 to Toulouse, France.

regards
