Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Elvera A. Voigt, age 86 of St. Augusta who passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 at St. Benedict's Senior Community in St. Cloud surrounded by her family after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Reverend Robert Rolfes will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at the St. Mary Help of Christians Parish Center. The Christian women will pray at 6:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the parish center in St. Augusta. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Elvera was born on January 6, 1920 in Clear Lake, Minnesota to Louis and Gertrude (Imholte) Juenemann. She married Clarence T. Voigt on June 23, 1943 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake. Elvera was employed as a cook at the Modern Bar and the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and later by Apperts Frozen Foods until her retirement in 1982. She lived in St. Augusta most of her married life. Elvera enjoyed quilting at church and was a member of the Christian Women and St. Mary Help of Christians Parish.
Elvera is survived by her children, John and his wife Terri of St. Augusta, James and his wife Theresa of Auburn, Washington, Susanne Green and her husband Garry of Minneapolis, and JoAnn Conner and her husband David of Plummer, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernadine Buranen of Annandale and Hilaria Larrie Johnson of Hope, North Dakota; brothers, Andrew of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Ronald of Clear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on May 26, 1984, brother, Aloysius and sister, Alvina Robertson.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
