No one has posted to this message board for quite awhile, but I thought I'd add something.
My immigrant ancestor Peter Bricker's first wife (I'm descended from his second wife) was a Christina Juelch. At least that is how it was written down from 1722 to 1729 in the church register of Waldersbach, Alsace by the minister, although it could have been Juelg, as Christina herself was illiterate. She apparently didn't come from the Waldersbach area, as I haven't found evidence of anyone else with that surname there. He was of the Reformed faith, and I think she may have been as well. The church in Waldersbach was Lutheran, but there was no Reformed church within any reasonable distance, so the couple used it for their baptisms. But they didn't
marry in that church, so I am trying to discover where their wedding might have happened. Probably somewhere else in Alsace.
