Surnames: Info on Juarbe from Isabela, Puerto Rico
You're in luck, and it happens that we're very distant cousins. Here's the information I recently got from my mother (who is from Isabela):

My mother remembers her grandfather as “Papa Guango” Juarbe, believed his name to be Juan Juarbe, and grandmother “Mama Ruca” Aldarondo (don’t remember the first name). They had the following children:

Fernando Juarbe Aldarondo, Justa Juarbe Aldarondo (my grandmother) and Josefa Juarbe Aldarondo (her identical twin), Francisco (“Pacolo”), Pascasio (“Cacho”), José (“Pepe”), Anselma (“Len”), Carlos, Sole (man’s name), María (“Tito”).

Josefa Juarbe Aldarondo married her cousin Félix Juarbe, and had Pinera (deceased), Justa (deceased), Irma (lives in Río Piedras), Gladys (deceased), Delia (lives in Isabela), Asia (deceased), Luis (deceased), Juan (deceased, lived in Cuba, but died in Isabela), Eduardo (deceased), Lumen (lives in Río Piedras).

Francisco Juarbe Aldarondo married Aleja Saavedra, and had a son she remembers by the nickname “Totó” (deceased), Rubén (deceased), Sol María (lives in Isabela), Judith (lives in Isabela), a daughter nicknamed “Nana” (not sure, could be Eduarda, who lives in Isabela), and “Johnny” (lives in the States).

Pascasio Juarbe Aldarondo married a woman she remembers by the nickname “Melo” López (deceased), and had Pedro (deceased), Miguel Angel (deceased), Vicente (deceased), Susana (deceased), Emilia (deceased), “Melita” (deceased), “Meca” (still alive, late 80s, lives in Río Piedras), Juana (80s, lives in Río Piedras, has two daughters).

José (“Pepe”) Juarbe Aldarondo married a woman from Isabela, can’t remember the name or surname, and had Carmen, “Pepita” (believed to be Josefa), Luz Emilia, Ana, Imeria, Ramón, “Pepito” (believed to be José), “Pilín”, y Reinaldo.
He also had a daughter from an extramarital affair by the name Irma (deceased). Don’t know the mother’s name. She married Antonio Grajales, and had a son, Antonio.

Anselma (“Len”) Juarbe Aldarondo married Victorio Roldán, and had Patria, “Toyita” (believed to be Antonia), “Lela”, Blanca, and another daughter (can’t remember name).

Carlos Juarbe Aldarondo married Emilia Alfaro Román (sister of my grandfathers Ezequiel and Felipe), and had a daughter, Agustina (“Gorgo”).

Sole Juarbe Aldarondo married Agustina Alfaro Román (my grandfathers’sister), and had Juan (“Pucho”), Mercedes, and “Chuncha” (believed to be Agustina).
He had an extramarital affair (but never was sure it was his) called Francisco ( “Pancho”). The mother’s name can’t remember.

María Juarbe Aldarondo married Antonio Ruiz, never had children.

My grandmother Justa Juarbe Aldarondo married Felipe Alfaro Román, and had Laura, Eufrasina, Teotista, Moisés, Enecunda, Segundo, Gustavina (my mother), Gloria.

Laura Alfaro Juarbe (living in Isabela) married Ramón Rosado Román, and had Saúl (deceased), Graciela (“Nana”) (deceased), Laura (“Yuri”), Ramón (“Junior”), Martín, Monserrate, Rebeca, Néstor (deceased).

Eufrasina Alfaro Juarbe (deceased) never married.

Teotista Alfaro Juarbe (living in S.J.) married Ramón Alfaro Amador, and had Edith (deceased), Carmen Luz, Ramón Antonio, Zaida.
Moisés Alfaro Juarbe never married.

Enecunda Alfaro Juarbe (living in Isabela) married Eduardo Calero Calero (son of Luis Calero and Luisa Calero), and had María Dolores. (Eduardo had a sister, Emilia Calero Calero).

Segundo Alfaro Juarbe (deceased) married Elsa Pérez, and had Segundo, Antonio (“Tony”), Justa Antonia.
He divorced and married again in Camden, N.J., a woman named Lucy (Puerto Rican), and had Alex (lives in N.Y.)
Had a daughter from an extramarital affair in Camden, N.J. called Ana María, don’t know the mother’s name (Puerto Rican).
Divorced and married Aurora Tirado, and had Moisés.

Gustavina Alfaro Juarbe (living in Isabela) married Eligio Alfaro Román (first cousin), and had Aura Nivia (me!), and Justa.

Gloria Alfaro Juarbe (living in Río Piedras) married Calixto Aldarondo Galván, and had Milton, Alma, and Alida.

I can get also you info on the Aldarondos if you’re interested.

Hi. My maternal grandmother was Juarbe Aldarondo. All the Juarbes from Isabela are related, and all of them came from Spain. Do you know any other names from your Juarbe family?

My mother's last name is Juarbe and she was born in Rio Piedras. Her father lived/died in New York around 1999 or 2000. His name was Ruben Juarbe. He is Angel Juarbe's uncle (my cousin), the firefighter that died on 9/11. I heard that since Juarbe is such a rare last name, we are all related. Distant cousins?

My sister knew Angel. She worked with him. If I remember right, he's our second cousin. I remember the first time I saw him he was on this show called Small Town X. anyways, my mothers side of the family is named Juarbe. Her mothers name is Irene Juarbe and she is from Isabella P.R. I was told that the Juarbes were all related as well. I don't get on this website much, so if you can, contact me to my direct email. NFinite@tmail.com

Dear Nancy T.

I was surfing through the net looking for the Juarbe last name and came across your email. I had a second aunt on my father's side who we used to call Tia Nena who married Felix Ocasio. She was my grandmother's sister. You must be her greatgrandaughter. What is your grandmother's name? If your grandmother is the daughter of Tia Nena, she had a brother named Eduardo, who died, a sister named Nerina. Those are the two that I remember well. I forgot the names of the other children. Hope to hear from you at some point.
