Hi, my grandmother had the name of Emma Esperanza Juan and her twin sister was called Emma Angelina Juan. I think they had a brother called James Juan. We know that my grandmother had we think a Spanish husband, but the link finishes there. My grandmother and her twin sister, lived in Poplar East London in the l920's to l950's but that is all the information we have. Sadly My father died many years ago so we have no further information to go on. We are eager to trace this line of the family. Can any one help thanks

greetings. i would like to add to the list of names under juan. my name is jenny juan from manila, philippines in asia. i have 1 sister her name barbara, now married to john victor diokno also from the philippines, they have children juliene danielle and caitlin precyleigh and caitlin eleighnor (twins). my father's name is rogelio, my mother leonora sibayan also filipino. my father's siblings are florante, ernesto, rodolfo, elpidio, norma lilia and "atring". my father, florante and ernesto's family are here. the others are in the US. my cousins are in the US and in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Phils. (where my father and his siblings grew up).
my grandfather married Barbara Dacuag (i don't know roots yet, she died when my father is just a kid) in Ilocos Norte. According to my dad, my grandfather grew up in Hawaii, USA but i don't know where was he born. My father is still alive, i will still ask him the lines from my grandparents and great grandparents. but this would take time i think. My father also mentioned that they owned lands in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, as the family's occupation back then were farmers, but already sold to relatives there. i don't have yet the names of those relatives.
i hope to find out in time that we are all related somehow, if not, i am glad to just share something with all of you here. you know, my grandfather is a good violinist according to my dad. i also know how to play the violin but not that good. regards all and until then...

Hi Jan,

My grandmother Susannah Juan would have been the sister of your grandmother and her twin. They lived in Poplar. The other brothers and sisters were Mary, Juaquin, Arthur, and Esther who died age 5. Their parents were Juaquin Juan and Mary Ann Dixon. Our Great grandfather Juaquin was from Barcelona in Spain . He died in 1909. On his mariage certificate he gives his fathers name as Juaquin as well. Mary Ann's parents were George Dixon from Deptford and Mary Ann Simpson from North Wales. George's parents were Michael and Phillis Dixon.

I havn't got any further back than that but I keep trying.
My father grew up on the Isle of Dogs but moved to Plumstead Common after he married my mother in 1941.

Hope this is of help.

Regards

Frances
