Classification: Query
Surnames: Joslin/McCormick
I am posting this message in the hopes in getting in contact with Alex Mead that posted some messages in 2000, but if anyone has any info that they would like to share or exchange please email me direct at lirpa96@frontiernet.net.

I have been doing a lot of research on the JOSLIN line.
My great great grandfather is FRANK S. JOSLIN.
This is my line back from my grandmother who is a JOSLIN(JOSLYN).
She was Elizabeth Joslyn-b.2/12/1926-d.5/25/2003, daughter of Fred Leroy Joslyn and Sadie Electa Elmer.
The name Joslin changes in spelling here because my great grandfather thought it looked "prettier" with a Y instead of an I.
Fred Leroy Joslyn b. 6/9/1893-d.11/14/1940 son of FRANK S. JOSLIN and ADDIE ROSE MCCORMICK.
Frank S. Joslin (born in Boonville, NY)b.abt7/1860-d.1923
Addie Rose McCormick (born in Watson, NY)b.4/3/1873-1/6/1934
Their children are:
Fred Leroy Joslin b. 6/9/1893-d.11/14/1940 m. Sadie Electa Elmer
Jennie May Joslin b. 5/9/1899 m.Jay Stone
Alletta Joslin b. abt 1909 m. Edward Owens
Flossie Louise Joslin b.abt 1887-d.9/23/1930 m. Percy Dale VanDressen
Merrill Joslinb. 6/17/1903 never married
Herbert Joslin b.10/17/1905 never married
Hazel Joslin b.abt 1912 m. Howard Wilmot
Pearle Joslin b. abt 1914 died before age 10
Myra Joslin b. abt 1903 died young also, I have speculated that she may have been a twin of Merrill but have no proof as of yet.

Frank S. Joslin was a guide in the Adirondacks and is listed as a guide in the Brown Tract Association. He and Addie had a log cabin in the Adirondacks that burnt in 1913 and soon after he moved to Paris New York, where he died. I have proof that most of his children if not all were born in the adirondacks. I live in New york and am planning a trip to Old Forge to do more in depth research on Frank.

Addie Rose McCormick was the daughter of William McCormick and Caroline Wilder. Her father William was a Civil war vet and served indirectly under General Grant. He was at Appomatox Court when Robert E. Lee surrendered to Grant. I have her obituary and also the obit for her father and brothers, if anyone is interested.

I have also collected other newspaper articles on Frank and Addie and will hopefully be able to add more to my info. I have started to build a web site with the Joslin line on it and will be glad to send anyone the url if they are interested. Also, my mother has some pictures of Addie and some of the other Joslins that will be posted on the site eventually.

I have traced FRANK back through census records and found that he was the son of Samuel Joslin and Esther M. , who was the son of John Andrew Joslin III and Ann Mercy Sweet (Boonville, NY). Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a whole lot of info on Samuel... so if anyone knows anything about him I would welcome any input.

I look forward to any response I may recieve! thank you!
