My father was Arthur William Joscelyne of the Leigh-on-Sea Branch of the family. He died aged 90 in 1993. In his 80's he penned the story of his life, how his father met and married his mother Ellen Elizabeth Setterfield, at The Grand Hotel, Leigh, how his father purchased a beach for nine pound in a drunken moment in The Smack Inn at Leigh and all about his boyhood. It is a wonderful gentle story and I was delighted when Clive Leatherdale a local publisher agreed to take it up. It is now in print from
info@desertislandbooks.com at 7:99 pounds and I am sure anyone with the Joscelyne name will enjoy this account of family life in the early 1900's.
