From the Pittsburgh Press, 3/11/1945 (Pittsburgh, PA):

Pvt. John A. Jordan, of 1198 Chislett St., was killed in action Feb. 24 in Germany, shortly after receiving the Bronze Star. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, he worked in the office of Swift & Co. before entering service in July, 1942. While in service he attended Georgetown University and the University of Maryland and went overseas last September. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jordan, and a brother, Richard M. Jordan, serving in the Pacific area.
