The farthest back I have is JOHN JOPSON of Borrowdale. This information was entered into the parish registry when grandson Robert Jopson was baptised in 1779. Borrowdale is in the Parish of Crosthwaite in Cumberland. Borrowdale is less than 10 miles south of Keswick.
I searched the A2A site and used Google to find several references to a JOHN JOPSON and a DANIEL JOPSON living in Borrowdale (at Chapel Farm/House) during this time (about 1730 to about 1800). Chapel House Farm still exists - It has a camp ground and approx. 700 hectares of land at a junction of B5289 in STONETHWAITE.
At the Cumbria County Council Archives in Barrow there is a will of Daniel Jopson of Chapel in Borrowdale 1789, and a summary family tree of Jopson family from Daniel Jopson of Borrowdale born 1709, down to 1897. Does anyone know anything about these documents?
