Carolyn Lucille Joos
LANCASTER: Carolyn Lucille Joos, age 78, of Lancaster, Ohio died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Pickering House.
She was born on October 7, 1935 in Lancaster, Ohio (Fairfield County) to Bertha Wilson Reid and John Reid Sr.
She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1953.
She worked at Beiter and Flege Drug Store on Columbus, St., and then worked for Montgomery Ward as a store manager, receiving several awards, until its closing.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas "Tom" Joos.
Besides traveling both nationally and internationally, they especially enjoyed their winters working with the homeless through St. Vincent de Paul Society in Phoenix, AZ.
Lucille was also survived by her sisters, Betty Arnet, Helen "Sis" Conrad, Jeanette (Ed) Morris and Linda (Bob) Young; brothers, George (Jean), Bill (Paula), Ray (Patty), Tom (June) and Larry (Janet) Reid; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Joyce Morris, and the Amanda Lions Club.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Cunningham, Louise Shaw; and brothers, John Jr. and Robert "Bo" Reid.
Services will be held at St. Mark Church with Mass on Thursday at 10:30AM.
Interment will follow at St Mary Cemetery, Lancaster, OH.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
