AUSTINTOWN, OH – Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Oct 3, 2014 at the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, for Joshua David Joki, 33, who passed away early Saturday morning, Sept, 2014.
Josh was born Jan. 20, 1981, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) the son of the late David W. Joki Jr. and Debbie (Cox) Joki.
He was a Regional Program Director, serving the needs of the mentally disabled for 10 years in the Youngstown area.
Josh was a 1999 graduate of Hubbard High School and a 2003 graduate of Youngstown State University.
He was a member of the SAE Fraternity at YSU, the Hubbard Businessman’s Bowling League, the Austintown Rotary Club, and the Austintown Colts Organization.
Josh was also an avid golfer and bowler, as well as a diehard Cleveland sports fan.
Besides his mother, Debbie, Josh leaves his wife, the former Michelle Haluska, whom he married June 11, 2011; their five children, Noah J. O’Neill, Samantha I., Breanna L., Joshua D. Jr. and Alexander D., all at home.
He also leaves five siblings, Robert Dennick Joki of Youngstown, Mandy G. Joki (Adam) of Hubbard, Ohio, Tammy Williams (Ryan) of New Wilmington, Jeremy R. Joki (Tiffany) of Austintown, and Sherry L. Joki (Jesse) of Girard, OH; father- and mother-in-law David and Eleanor Haluska; a sister-in-law, Heather Reynolds (Chris); several nieces and nephews.
Joshua was preceded in death by his father, David; his step-father, Bob Syphrit; his grandparents, Dennick and Betty Cox; and three uncles, Dennick, Doug, and David Cox.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, and again Friday, 10 to 11 a.m., at the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m.
