I have received replies from even older posts, so as long as I'm still on, I can respond. The 1920 document confuses things a bit and I posted a comment that Alexander Dunkeld Johnstone usually refers to the son of Alexander, although I believe Dunkeld may be a family name of some sort, but I do not recall where it shows up otherwise (some of my information was printed out from before I started my Buss-Overett family tree on Ancestry. I am afraid I do not have much more information than what I have put down already, but I did update my info on Robert. I also tried to indicate some of the other information in the mate certificates, but Ancestry has some poor interfaces. BTW, I was incorrect in my original post that ADJ was married to Grace or Emily - he was married to the third French sister, Alice Mary. I have a letter from her brother to their cousin, my grandfather, in which he says something to the effect that "Johnstone knows nothing about girls!" when ADJ's first daughter was born. I did have contact with a descendant of Alice's brother, but I don't think that is active anymore (probably an expired membership). I am on AOL if you want to communicate directly.
