JOCHEM Dr. Gustav "Gus" G. Jochem, age 85, passed away December 24, 2007 at his home in Upper Arlington. Gus was born September 29, 1922 to Gottfried and Katerina (Kettenbach) Jochem in Dienheim, West Germany. Gus married Ursula M. Pennrich on November 13, 1954. Gus is preceded in death by his parents. Gus is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ursula; children, Ingrid Mayyasi, Dr. Richard Jochem, Dr. Victor (Laura) Jochem, and Christine (Todd) Auch; sister, Anna (Emil) Jugenheimer; and 10 grandchildren. Gus is a World War II veteran and emigrated from Germany in 1954. He graduated from Heidelberg Medical School, performed his internship at St. Mary's hospital in Huntington West Virginia and his residency at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He founded The Riverside Medical Group and practiced internal medicine at Riverside for over 30 years where he trained a generation of internal medicine residents. Since retirement, he and his wife enjoyed spending the winters in Siesta Key, Florida. Family will receive friends at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, on Thursday, December 27th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220 will be on Friday, December 28th at 10 a.m. Father Joseph Yokum Celebrant.
