OBITUARY: Robert N. Jochem

BELGRADE – Robert N. Jochem, 80, passed away May 28 at Mountain View Care Center. He was born March 6, 1920, to Karl and Frieda (Reese) Jochem in Ravanna, Neb.
Bob grew up and went to school in Ravanna and later joined the regular Army, serving in Fort Lewis, Wash., and Ft. Francis E. Warren In Cheyenne, Wyo. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1939 to 1945. He married Frances Bud on April 29, 1943. They have four children, Mary Ann, Robert, Teresa and Dan.
After the war, Bob worked as an accountant for various firms until 1959 when he opened his own office in his home at 2011 Pryor Lane in Billings, retiring in 1992. He was a charter member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Billings, member of the Holy Name Society, and Retired Volunteer Program. Bob enjoyed cards, especially pinochle, bingo and bowling, but his most prized interest was his grandchildren. Bob and Frances moved to Belgrade in December of 1999.
Bob is survived by his wife, Frances of Belgrade, daughters, Mary Ann (William) Jacobson, Teresa (Michael) Riggs; sons, Robert (Betsy) Jochem Lanier, Dan (Nancy) Jochem; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Davis, Bernice Peterson, Rosella Lammers and sister-in-law, Toby Jochem. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Jochem.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. and the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at the Valley of the Flowers Catholic Church in Belgrade. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, also at the Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 919 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611-1676 or the charity of your choice.
