Do any of your records show an Artamissa Hall marrying a Joachim. She was from Hamilton County Illinois and married a man who lived in the Springfield Illinois area according to the family story. But Enfield is not a long way from Belle Prairie, IL in Hamilton County and I wondered if she married a Joachim instead of a Yocum.

Thank you.

My Artamissa Hall married a Yocum/Joachim. My mother told me that when she was a little girl Artamissa came to visit my great grandfather Hall, her brother. Mother also told me that she was wealthy and had a very good living. Wabash County is very close to Hamilton County. Artamissa was born about 1845-1855. I am not sure when. I have just moved and my records are still packed. I have never seen the spelling of her married name. It could be yocum or Joachim. I do not know her husband's first name. I did find a marriage of a Mary A. Hall and Charles Yocum in Sangamon County IL in 1882. I did not think her first name was Mary but maybe it was. My mother said she married and lived near Springfield so I am wondering if the Mary A. was she. Thank you for answering my post. If I can find anything out, I will certainly let you know.

In Washington,D.C. in 1860 a Conrad Kauffman
married a Magdalena Joachim. In the marriage
records, she is listed as Magdalena Yokum.
This is a mistake that evidently happened
when the clerk could not understand the
german accent.

My husband's G Grandfather was Herman Ferdinand Joachim. From Germany. He was married to Mathilda Peters. Supposed to have had 5 children, one of which was Edward, my husband's grandfather. He married Hulda Augusta Asmus. They had one son, Marvin Lee Joachim who married Dorothea Olga Engbrecht. They had two sons, Alan Lee and David Evan Joachim. Alan is my husband. We have very little to go on. Herman was supposed to have worked for the Nickle-Plate Railroad. He left his family in 1901 never to be heard from again. Any help would be appreciated. Shari.

My husbands family came from Olderum,Hanover Germany before 1860,Conrad Joachim, wife Herminia and 6 children,Elbert,John,Joachim,Gerret,Justus, and only girl Emka, listed, had two more children born in Wabash, Co Ill, This was from 1860 census, Wabash Co. Have not been able to document any more information except
Conrad's wife in 1860 was listed as Hannah, which may have been mispelled. Have gravestone listing of many Joachims/Joochins
at Old Bethel and new Bethel cemeteries in Wabash Co. I believe this is our family even tho the name is spelled different. My husband's father was born at Bellmont, IL. His father was Gerard, he was son of Conrad yet there is no son listed in 1860 by that name. Anyone having any more information on any of the above would be glad to hear from you.

Hi Edna,
my name is Susanna Ritter, born Joachim, and I am living in Hamburg/ Germany.
I just started to search for family members
and would be more than pleased if you could give me some more information about John Joachim. My grandfather's name was John and the only thing I know is that he was married to Elvina Joseph and that they lived in Venezuela and Trinidad. Do you have any data that match?
Thanks in advance for your help.
